Traditional Soil Analysis

Overview

Traditional soil analysis is what we all know – “W” patterns. It is relatively simple providing some guidelines are followed. We can advise or undertake all soil analysis or can provide you with the equipment to do it yourself but importantly we can provide all of the backup.

We put together Crop Nutrition Reports to advise on fertiliser applications and to satisfy criteria set out by Crop Assurance Schemes, LEAF Audits, and most importantly Good Agricultural and Environmental Condition (GAEC) – Cross Compliance.

The techniques used in Traditional Soil Analysis are essentially the same as the techniques underpinning Soilquest just aiming at different targets.

Soilquest N – Nitrogen sampling kits or sampling service together with all decision making support.

Heard About SoilQuest?

The Soilquest system uses soil electrical conductivity to generate finely detailed and highly accurate soil maps. Areas of contrasting soil properties are identified (in non-saline soils – soil texture) directly related to the key ingredients of productivity.

A Veris EC Cart is pulled through the field on a normal bout basis continually measuring the electrical conductivity at two depths 0-30cm and 30-90cm. This data is then processed to provide the familiar soil maps. The maps are then used to define management zones which in turn allow specific sampling, treatments, operations and cropping decisions to be targeted to soil type.
