Farm Image
Farm Image provides a wide variety of services including soil sampling, mapping, interpretations, nutrient management plans, risk mapping, help and guidance with EA audits or SFI schemes, variable rate application files and full liming services on farms throughout Kent and Sussex.
We have experienced FACTs and BASIS trained and qualified advisors in the Farm Image office, backed by efficient and helpful support staff to offer guidance and advice to our customers when required. In addition, Farm Image has a team of knowledgeable, fully trained samplers combined with new, reliable sampling equipment such as our fleet of Wintex automatic samplers which allows for accurate and efficient precision soil sampling. We cover a variety of sampling including standard analysis (P, K, Mg, pH and OM), Soil mineral nitrogen (SMN), Carbon sampling, Potato cyst nematode (PCN), grid sampling and pH sampling/testing.
Sample results and analysis are automatically uploaded to our intuitive precision farming platform, Soil Smart, which is accessible to farmers and advisors. Variable rate application files can be produced by Farm Image but can also be created by the farmers themselves. Soil Smart also allows real time assessment of crop canopy by satellite imagery.
With all the data collected on farm being in one easily accessible location, farmers can make well informed decisions to feed into their nutrient plans and fertiliser applications, ensuring they are making the best decisions for profitability, the environment and compliance tools for the Environment Agency.
Agriculture is in the spotlight with the decrease in water quality and increase in nutrients present in drinking water. Farm Image work closely with farmers and water companies to make better informed decisions on their farm to ensure nutrients are being utilised by the crops and not leaching their way into water courses.
We currently work with clients including Southern Water, South East Water and Anglian Water to assess the level of available nitrogen in the soil and crop before fertiliser applications in the spring and we assess the residual Nitrogen available in the soil after harvest, our target is to help reduce the latter. ACS Farm Image work with The Environment Bank, sampling over 6000 acres of habitat to ensure the preservation of natural ecosystems, this provides the opportunity for farmers and landowners to build more resilient and sustainable farming systems.
Farm Image is a division of Austin Contract Services, ACS Group, who are specialists in agricultural products and waste management, providing over 50 years combined experience of high-quality services to agriculture.
